Dix Hills is large-home territory — wide lots, substantial colonials, and interiors scaled to match. That means the biggest furniture we handle anywhere in Suffolk: four and five-section sectionals, oversized dining sets, and upholstery that frequently represents several thousand dollars a piece.
Big sectionals, and what's hiding under them
The four-piece-and-larger sectional is close to standard in Dix Hills family rooms, and it's the piece we're called out for most here. Ours is $220 for four sections or more, covering every section, the chaise, the back cushions and the deck underneath — not priced per seat and not renegotiated on arrival.
Two things about furniture this size. First, it never moves. A three-seat sofa gets pulled out occasionally; a five-piece L-shape gets positioned once when the room is furnished and stays there for a decade. The deck beneath the cushions and the panel against the wall accumulate years of settled dust that stays invisible until the visible surfaces come up clean and the contrast becomes obvious.
Second, the seams. Where two sections meet there's a channel that never gets vacuumed, and in a house with children it fills with crumbs, hair, coins and small toys. We separate the sections wherever the design allows, because that seam is where the worst of it lives and it cannot be cleaned properly from the outside.
Performance fabric, velvet and bouclé
Newer Dix Hills furniture skews heavily toward performance fabric, performance velvet and bouclé — the three finishes that have dominated high-end retail for several years. All three clean extremely well when handled correctly, and all three are damaged by the same thing: household spray cleaner.
Performance fabrics like Crypton and Sunbrella resist staining genuinely, but supermarket upholstery cleaner leaves a residue that permanently dulls the finish and defeats the treatment you paid extra for at purchase. Bouclé must never meet a stiff brush or a vacuum beater bar — a pulled loop is structural damage to the weave and cannot be repaired or cleaned out. And velvet marks from plain water, not because it stains but because moisture makes the pile lie differently and that patch reflects light as a different shade.
None of these change the price. A velvet sofa is $125 and so is a polyester one. What changes is method, and getting it wrong on a custom sectional is expensive in a way it simply isn't on a mass-market piece.

Formal dining rooms
Dix Hills homes generally have a proper dining room that gets used for holidays and occasions rather than daily meals, and those chairs are among the most neglected furniture in the county. Heavy use across a concentrated stretch of the year, then months untouched — and because a chair seat is only ever viewed at an angle, nobody sees what's accumulated.
Ten and twelve-seat sets are common here. At $20 a chair that's $200 to $240 for a full set, and it is genuinely the best-value work on our list. Most people book them alongside the family room sectional, and the whole job comes to somewhere around $440 before the online discount.
Multiple bedrooms, multiple mattresses
Larger houses mean more beds, and mattress cleaning is where the per-visit maths works hardest in your favour. Every mattress is $99 regardless of size — twin through California king — because the work is identical and charging more for a bigger bed makes no sense.
An adult loses roughly half a litre of moisture and a significant quantity of skin cells into a mattress every night, and it sits in the top layers of foam where washing sheets cannot reach. It feeds dust mites, whose waste proteins are among the most common indoor allergens there are. In a five-bedroom house that's five reservoirs of it. Add the headboards at $99 each and the entire upstairs gets done in one visit.

Outdoor and patio furniture in your town
Outdoor cushions are the piece most your town households forget, and they take punishment no indoor sofa ever sees. Sunscreen is the damaging one — it carries oils and titanium dioxide that bond into the fibers, oxidise and yellow. A cushion cleaned at the end of the season recovers; the same cushion left under a cover all winter often does not.
Add salt in the air, spring pollen, tree sap and bird droppings, and outdoor fabric accumulates far more than people expect. Mildew is the end result, and it is worth understanding why: it does not feed on the acrylic fiber itself, it feeds on what is sitting on the fabric. Clean fabric genuinely resists mildew, soiled fabric does not, whatever the manufacturer's tag claims.
We clean patio sectionals, deep-seat sofas, chair pads and poolside furniture in place, with controlled extraction rather than a pressure washer — pressure washing breaks the fiber surface, strips the factory water-repellent finish and drives water deep into the foam. Prices are identical to indoor: an outdoor three-seat sofa is $125 and a four-section outdoor sectional is $220, with back cushions and scatter pillows included. Best booked in September or October, before anything gets covered or stored. More on outdoor furniture cleaning →
How we work, on every piece
Six stages, whether it's a $40 ottoman or a $220 sectional. We find the manufacturer's tag and read the cleaning code — W, S, WS and X each demand a different method, and guessing is how furniture gets ruined. Dry soil comes out first with a crevice tool through every seam, because adding moisture to dry grit makes mud.
Then an organic pre-conditioner with real dwell time to emulsify the oily film holding soil in place. Gentle agitation with a soft horsehair brush, worked with the fabric rather than against it. Hot-water extraction with an upholstery hand tool rather than a carpet wand, so the fabric never gets wetter than it can give back. Then grooming, cushions on edge, air moving.
Fabric changes the method but never the price. Velvet, bouclé, microfiber, leather, linen and wool are all priced by the piece — our fabric guide covers what each needs.

Questions Long Island homeowners ask
How much do you charge for a large sectional in Dix Hills?
A sectional with four or more sections is $220, and one with two or three sections is $150. Both include every section, the chaise, the back cushions and the deck underneath. Nothing is priced separately and the figure does not change once we arrive.
Do you take large sectionals apart to clean them?
Wherever the design allows, yes. The channel where two sections meet collects crumbs, hair and coins and cannot be cleaned properly from the outside. We reassemble everything before leaving.
Can you clean performance fabric and performance velvet?
Yes, and both respond very well to proper hot-water extraction. What damages them is household spray cleaner, which leaves a residue that permanently dulls the finish and undoes the stain treatment built into the fabric at manufacture.
How much for a ten-seat dining set?
$200, at $20 per chair, covering seats and backs in any fabric. Most Dix Hills customers book the dining set alongside the family room sectional, which brings the whole job to around $440 before the 10% online discount.
Is mattress cleaning priced by size?
No. Every mattress is $99, twin through California king, because the work is the same. In a house with several bedrooms it is worth doing them all in one visit, and headboards are $99 each on top.
Does it cost extra to come out to Dix Hills?
No. There is no travel charge, distance surcharge or postcode pricing anywhere in Nassau or Suffolk. A three-seat sofa is $125 in Dix Hills and $125 in Wyandanch.
