Why we publish prices

Search for upholstery cleaning costs on Long Island and you'll find national averages, Manhattan companies, and a great many forms asking you to call. Almost nobody local will tell you a number before they're standing in your living room, and there's a reason for that.

The reason is that a quote given on your doorstep can be adjusted. Adjusted for the size of your house, for how urgent you sound, for what the technician thinks you'll pay. Advertise $79 a room, arrive, and explain that pre-treatment, spot removal and speed drying are extras — and $79 becomes $260 while you're standing there in your socks with the van already unloaded.

We'd rather you knew. A three-seat sofa is $125 in Elmont and $125 in Sands Point. If that's more than you wanted to spend, you've lost nothing but the time it took to read it.

100% organic, pet-safe and baby-safe. Carpet is underfoot. Upholstery is where your children nap, where the dog sleeps, and where you fall asleep watching television — so whatever's left in that fabric stays in contact with people for hours. Everything we carry is plant-derived and non-toxic, with no chemical smell and nothing to air out. It costs no more.

How we work

Six stages on every piece, whether it's a $40 ottoman or a $220 sectional. We find the manufacturer's tag and read the cleaning code, because W, S, WS and X each demand a different method and guessing is how furniture gets ruined. We remove dry soil first with a crevice tool through every seam, since adding moisture to dry grit just makes mud.

Then an organic pre-conditioner with genuine dwell time — this is where the oily film gets emulsified, and rushing it is the most common shortcut in this trade. Gentle agitation with a soft brush, worked with the fabric rather than against it. Hot-water extraction with an upholstery hand tool, not a carpet wand, so the fabric never gets wetter than it can give back. Then grooming, cushions on edge, air moving.

Most pieces are dry to the touch in two to four hours. Dining chairs are faster, around an hour. Sectionals take three to five.

Fabric changes the method, never the price

A velvet sofa is $125. So is a leather one, a bouclé one and a plain polyester one. What changes is how we approach it — velvet needs low moisture and a cool rinse so the pile doesn't set wrong, bouclé can never meet a stiff brush because a pulled loop is permanent, most microfiber is solvent-only and must not meet water at all, and leather is cleaned and conditioned rather than extracted.

That knowledge takes experience, not extra hours, so we don't bill for it. Our fabric guide covers every material we work with and what damages each one.

Stains, odors and pets

Ordinary marks — food, drink, general soiling — are treated as part of every clean at no extra charge. Pet urine is the exception at $50, because it needs enzyme chemistry rather than detergent: urine soaks through into the foam and leaves uric acid crystals that aren't water-soluble, which is why a surface-cleaned sofa smells fine in winter and strongly of urine by July.

We'll also tell you when we can't fix something. If urine has reached the frame or the floor beneath, cleaning the fabric improves it but may not resolve it, and you'll hear that before you spend anything rather than after.

Every town, one price

We cover all 178 towns and villages across Nassau and Suffolk — Elmont to Montauk, Long Beach to Lloyd Harbor. There is no travel charge, no parking surcharge, no fuel fee, no stairs charge and no weekend rate. Montauk is 86 miles from the Nassau line and the price is identical to Valley Stream.

Same-day and next-day appointments are usually available. Find your town on our service areas page.

What the work actually looks like

Outdoor and patio furniture — same prices

Outdoor cushions take punishment no indoor sofa ever sees, and on Long Island most of them sit within reach of salt air. Sunscreen is the damaging one: it contains oils and titanium dioxide that bond into fibers, oxidise and yellow — and once it has had a winter to set on a white cushion, it often will not come out.

We clean patio sectionals, deep-seat sofas, chair pads and poolside furniture in place, using controlled extraction rather than a pressure washer. Pressure washing is the single most common way expensive outdoor fabric gets destroyed on this island: it breaks the fiber surface, strips the factory water-repellent finish, and drives water deep into foam that then grows mildew from the inside.

Prices are identical to indoor — an outdoor three-seat sofa is $125 and a four-section outdoor sectional is $220, with back cushions and scatter pillows included. The best time to book is September or October, before the furniture is covered or stored. Full details on outdoor furniture cleaning →

How often you should book

Every 12 to 18 months for a typical household. Every 6 to 12 months with pets, small children, allergy sufferers, or if the piece sits in a below-grade room or a home near salt air — and on Long Island a great many are. Mattresses every one to two years, annually for children's beds.

Between visits: vacuum weekly with an upholstery attachment, rotate reversible cushions, blot spills straight down rather than rubbing, and keep furniture out of direct sun. Fabric protector at $65 is worth it on anything light-coloured — it won't make fabric stain-proof, but it slows absorption enough that most spills blot up before they set.

Questions Long Island homeowners ask

How much does upholstery cleaning cost on Long Island?

A three-seat sofa is $125, a loveseat $99, a sectional $150 or $220 depending on size, dining chairs $20 each, recliners $65, ottomans $40, and mattresses and headboards $99 each. Pet treatment is $50 and fabric protector $65. There is a $99 minimum per visit and every online quote takes 10% off.

Do you charge extra to travel out to my town?

No. There is no travel charge, parking surcharge, fuel fee, stairs charge or weekend rate anywhere in Nassau or Suffolk. Montauk is 86 miles from the Nassau line and costs exactly the same as Valley Stream.

Are your cleaning products safe for children and pets?

Yes. Everything we use is plant-derived and non-toxic, with no harsh detergents or optical brighteners. There is no chemical smell and nothing needs to air out before the room is usable. That matters more on upholstery than anywhere else, because it is the surface people actually rest on.

How quickly can you come out?

Same-day and next-day appointments are usually available across both counties. Build a quote on this page and we will call to confirm an arrival window the same day you send it.

Does the price change once you arrive?

Only if a piece turns out to be dramatically more soiled than described — years of untreated pet accidents, smoke or mould damage. In that case we tell you before starting and you can decline at no charge. We never renegotiate mid-job.

How long does upholstery take to dry?

Most pieces are dry to the touch in two to four hours and fully cured in about six. Dining chairs take one to two hours, sectionals three to five, and mattresses four to six. We stand cushions on edge and keep air moving to speed it up.

Do you clean carpets and rugs as well?

Yes. Upholstery is our specialty and where most of our work is, but we clean carpet and area rugs across Long Island too — and it makes sense to combine them in one visit, since the travel is already covered.
